Conference subsidy for primary teachers

A new subsidy is available to primary school teachers attending the 2024 ACHPER NSW PDHPE Conference.

AFL NSW/ACT will contribute $450 towards 2-day conference ticket for the first 20 teachers who register.

“We’re excited to offer this incentive to primary teachers,” said Tracy Puckeridge CEO of ACHPER NSW.

“Teaching PDHPE in primary schools has unique challenges. This generous offer by AFL NSW/ACT will make it easier for primary teachers to attend our conference and with a new syllabus coming, it’s more important than ever to best support PDHPE in primary school,” said Tracy.

What’s available?

  • $250 subsidy on one-day ticket – when you attend one AFL session
  • $250 subsidy on two-day ticket – when you attend one AFL session
  • $450 subsidy on two-day ticket – when you attend two AFL sessions
  • Available to first 20 primary teachers who register for the conference

To be eligible for the subsidy you must:

  • Attend the AFL workshop(s) at the conference. Workshop selection are made when you register for the conference.
    • If you are attending one-day – you must select the AFL workshop on that day.
    • If you are attending two-days – you must select the AFL workshop one day (to be eligible for $250 subsidy) or both days (to be eligible for $450 subsidy).

How to access the subsidy

Step 1: Complete the Conference subsidy EOI  (AFL NSW/ACT form)

Step 2: AFL NSW/ACT will contact you shortly afterwards via email to confirm you’re eligible for the subsidy.

Step 3: Register and pay for the conference (full price) via the ACHPER NSW website 

  • You will pay for the conference in full up front
  • You must select the AFL workshop(s) – on both days if you’re attending 2 days.

Step 4: Attend the conference

  • Attend and sign on at the selected AFL workshop(s)

Step 5: Subsidy payment

  • Following the conference, AFL NSW/ACT will contact you direct to make the subsidy payment to your school.
