What do HSC markers look for?
Gain insights, tips and tricks at our one-day workshop. You’ll take part in simulated HSC marking experiences designed to give you first-hand understanding.
You’ll also build consistency and confidence to make accurate judgements when marking your own student responses.
The workshop covers:
- Levels and standards of response in the HSC
- Processes of HSC marking and judging
- Interpreting the marking rubric
- Tips on what markers look for
- Features of high-standard responses
- Module content and links between content dot points
- Resources and support available.
The session will focus on Core 1 and Core 2 of the HSC course.
Who should attend: Current Stage 6 teachers, all levels of experience

PRESENTER
Meagan Gadd, Head Teacher PDHPE, Dapto High School
Meagan is a highly experienced PDHPE teacher who has been teaching the Stage 6 PDHPE course for 23 years. She is Head Teacher PDHPE and regularly mentors’ other teachers, both early career and experienced, in all aspects of teaching senior students. Meagan is passionate about senior PDHPE teaching, learning and assessment and has regularly presented professional learning and prepared resources at a local, regional and state level for various professional organisations. Her deep knowledge, experience and passion of quality teaching and learning underpins her practice and shines through in her presentations.

ACHPER NSW is a NESA-recognised PD provider. Attending this workshop will provide participants with 5.5 hours of professional learning addressing Standard 5: P Assess, provide feedback and report on student learning for the priority area Delivery & assessment of NSW curriculum.
