HSC Marking Simulation PDHPE – online

$376.00IMPORTANT: This workshop will take you through the HSC processes and procedures for the current syllabus that will be examined in 2024 and 2025. It will NOT cover examination of the new Health and Movement Science (HMS) syllabus.
What do HSC markers look for? Gain insights, tips and tricks at our one-day workshop.
You’ll take part in simulated HSC marking experiences designed to give you first-hand understanding of the HSC marking and judging processes.
You’ll also build consistency and confidence to make accurate judgements when marking your own student responses.
The workshop covers:
- Levels and standards of response in the HSC
- Processes of HSC marking and judging
- Interpreting the marking rubric
- Tips on what markers look for
- Features of high standard responses
The session will focus on Core 1 and Core 2 of the HSC course.
Who should attend? Current Stage 6 PDHPE teachers who will teach HSC classes in 2024 or 2025

PRESENTER
Meagan Gadd, Head Teacher PDHPE, Dapto High School
Meagan is a highly experienced PDHPE teacher who has been teaching the Stage 6 PDHPE course for 23 years. She is Head Teacher PDHPE and regularly mentors’ other teachers, both early career and experienced, in all aspects of teaching senior students. Meagan is passionate about senior PDHPE teaching, learning and assessment and has regularly presented professional learning and prepared resources at a local, regional and state level for various professional organisations. Her deep knowledge, experience and passion of quality teaching and learning underpins her practice and shines through in her presentations.
ACCREDITATION
Completing PDHPE HSC Marking Simulation will contribute 5 hours of NESA elective PD in the priority area of delivery and assessment of NSW curriculum – addressing standard descriptors 1.3.2, 2.1.2, 2.2.2, 5.2.2, 6.2.2 from the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers towards maintaining Proficient Teacher Accreditation in NSW.
