HMS Q&A – Preparing students for Year 11 HMS
August 8 @ 3:45 pm - 5:15 pm AEST
FreeHMS Q&A are free, informal collaborative planning and discussion sessions on the new HMS syllabus. Come together to work through key implementation tasks, ask questions, and share your challenges with ACHPER NSW staff and colleagues.
HMS Q&A is an opportunity to hear what others are doing and share your ideas – no questions or topics are off-limits. Each Q&A will focus on a topic, but you can also discuss wider issues and questions.
The Year 11 course content reflects much of what we teach in Year 12. This session will focus on the potential gaps in knowledge students may have when starting Year 11 HMS and examine how you can tweak your Year 10 programs to fill the gaps.
We’ll discuss:
- Key foundational knowledge and understanding gaps caused by the shift of content from the current Year 12 course into Year 11 HMS.
- Ensuring students have this foundational knowledge as they begin their HMS journey next year.
Explore practical strategies to retrofit 7-10 PDHPE programs to fill the gap between now and new 7-10 syllabus implementation in 2027.
