HMS Q&A: The body and mind in motion

FreeACHPER NSW offers a comprehensive Stage 6 HMS professional learning program, co-designed and delivered by ACHPER NSW staff and experienced teachers.
HMS Q&A are free, informal collaborative planning and discussion sessions on the new HMS syllabus. Come together to work through key implementation tasks, ask questions and share your challenges with ACHPER NSW staff and colleagues.
HMS Q&A is an opportunity to hear what others are doing and share your ideas – no questions or topics are off-limits. Each Q&A will focus on a topic, but you can also discuss wider issues and questions.
This session will explore ideas for programming and assessing The Body and Mind in Motion. Lisa’ will share her plans for delivering the focus area at Corrimal High School, along with ideas for running a collaborative investigation. Come along with any questions you have around the new content areas
HMS Q&A runs regularly – you’re welcome to join as many sessions as you like.

Who can attend? The session is open to all PDHPE teachers. However, it will be beneficial if you have a foundational knowledge of the new HMS syllabus, have started HMS planning and/or have attended an ACHPER NSW HMS workshop.

FACILITATOR
Lisa Quinn, Professional Learning Support, ACHPER NSW
Lisa is an experienced teacher of 20 years., including PDHPE Head Teacher and RFF primary school PE teacher, across all three school sectors. Lisa has also planned and delivered workshops for ACHPER and the DoE, guiding teachers across NSW to develop their knowledge and skills in PDHPE syllabus programming, and effective assessment. Lisa is a passionate educator dedicated and driven by a commitment to pedagogical excellence.
ACCREDITATION
Participating actively in one of the HMS Q&A sessions will contribute 1 hour of NESA elective PD in the priority area of delivery and assessment of NSW curriculum – addressing standard descriptor 2.1.2 from the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers towards maintaining Proficient Teacher Accreditation in NSW.
