Grouping strategies: issues of ability, equity and participation – Canberra
May 16 @ 5:00 pm - 6:30 pm AEST
$25.00Join Professor Dawn Penney from Edith Cowan University to explore mixed-ability class groupings in physical education.
While there is extensive international literature on different forms of ability grouping in physical education, particularly streaming by competency, mixed-ability classes has attracted comparatively little research attention.
Dawn’s research looks at the complexities and potential inequities that can result in mixed-ability groupings in PE classes. This presentation will look at the importance of grouping strategies in shaping understanding of ability in PE and influencing students’ opportunities for learning and participation.
