$376.00ACHPER NSW offers a comprehensive Stage 6 HMS professional learning program to help teachers.
Designing Year 11 HMS unit plans is a new one-day workshop co-designed and delivered by ACHPER NSW staff and experienced teachers.
Join us to unpack the Year 11 HMS course outcomes and content. We’ll explore sample unit plans that cover focus area content while embedding skills into teaching and learning activities.
The workshop is practical, and you’ll start creating Year 11 Focus Area 1 or Focus Area 2 units of work using our new programming templates and resources.
Workshop sessions include:
- Critiquing sample unit plans
- Unpacking syllabus outcomes using backward design process
- Creating learning goals and identifying evidence of learning
- Teaching and learning activity considerations
- Modelling processes to embed skill development into teaching and learning sequences
- Designing learning sequences using existing program resources
- Creating new activities using AI.
Who should attend? Any PDHPE teachers interested in teaching the Stage 6 HMS course.

PRESENTER
Lisa Quinn, Project Officer, ACHPER NSW
Lisa is an experienced teacher of 20 years, including PDHPE Head Teacher and RFF primary school PE teacher, across all three school sectors. Lisa has also planned and delivered workshops for ACHPER and the DoE, guiding teachers across NSW to develop their knowledge and skills in PDHPE syllabus programming, and effective assessment. Lisa is a passionate educator dedicated and driven by a commitment to pedagogical excellence.
ACCREDITATION
Completing ACHPER – Designing Year 11 HMS unit plans will contribute 5 hours and 30 minutes of NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA) Accredited PD in the priority area of Delivery and Assessment of NSW Curriculum/Early Years Learning Framework addressing standard descriptors 2.1.2 / 2.2.2 / 2.3.2 from the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers towards maintaining Proficient Teacher Accreditation in NSW.
