Masterclass #6 2024:

There are a range of teaching models, pedagogical approaches and assessment tools to pick from when planning PE lessons. But how do you know which will be most effective for your group of students?

The Spectrum of Teaching Styles for PE was developed by Mosston and Ashworth as a framework to guide PE teachers. It consists of 11 different teaching styles and allows for many approaches to teaching and learning such as behaviourist, cognitive, social constructivist, peer teaching, peer assessment, and self-assessment.

Join Michael, Shane and Brendan to discuss the value of the framework. Learn how it can guide you on:

  • the ‘how’, ‘when’ and ‘why’ of pedagogical decisions
  • meeting educational outcomes for increased curriculum alignment
  • successful enactment of model-based practises.
