Explore key planning considerations including NESA’s school-based assessment requirements and task design that addresses weightings between the skills and knowledge and understanding outcomes.
Examine ways to schedule depth studies and collaborative investigation to create assessment tasks and formative assessment opportunities.

PRESENTERS
Lisa Quinn, Professional Learning Support, ACHPER NSW
Lisa is an experienced teacher of 20 years., including PDHPE Head Teacher and RFF primary school PE teacher, across all three school sectors. Lisa has also planned and delivered workshops for ACHPER and the DoE, guiding teachers across NSW to develop their knowledge and skills in PDHPE syllabus programming, and effective assessment. Lisa is a passionate educator dedicated and driven by a commitment to pedagogical excellence.
Lisa Bauer, Head Teacher, James Ruse Agricultural High School
Lisa has been a head teacher PDHPE for 14 years, with extensive Stage 6 and HSC marking experience. She has taught in both the independent and public sector and holds a Master of Teaching from the University of Sydney. Lisa is involved in improving pedagogical practices through mentoring, professional development groups and working with teachers on their accreditation processes.
ACCREDITATION
Completing the Assessing Year 11 HMS workshop will contribute 5 hours of NESA elective PD in the priority area of delivery and assessment of NSW curriculum – addressing standard descriptors 2.3.2, 5.1.2 and 5.4.2 from the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers towards maintaining Proficient Teacher Accreditation in NSW.
