Join us to explore the key changes in the revised Australian Curriculum: Health and Physical Education v9.0, released in April 2022.

Designed for ACT teachers, this series of sessions will cover:

• Curriculum changes and considerations for practice
• Sexuality, consent and respectful relationships education
• Reimagining physical education to engage all students
• Reviewing and revising current programs and assessment plans.

This will be a three-part event:

Session 1: full day, face-to-face workshop

• Key content changes related to respectful relationships and consent education and implications for teaching practices
• Best practice research on teaching PE in order to engage all students and reduce physical inactivity among students
• Introduction to backward mapping programming process for unit design
• Designing teaching and learning sequences.

Session 2: Collaborative programming workshop – live online

• Refining planned teaching and learning activities using the UDL framework to ensure inclusion.

Session 3: Collaborative programming workshop – live online

• Assessment judgements based on observations and artefacts collected during the teaching and learning process.

Accreditation
This event is accredited with TQI. Any participants who complete the three sessions will be eligible for 10 hours of accredited PL with TQI ACT.

Janice has worked as a PDHPE teacher, Head Teacher and curriculum consultant for 30 years. She has extensive experience with curriculum development in NSW, Australia and internationally, and recently managed the review of the Australian Curriculum: Health and Physical Education. Janice provides professional development, support and resources for departments, schools and teachers across Australia.
